The graphics and gameplay are really good but the overall default settings for the game are not that great. Here’s what helped me: Look Sensitivity: 5. Photo Mode Shortcut: On. Follow Camera: Off. Swing Camera Shake: 0. Listening Mode: Maximum. JJJ Podcast: Off. Brightness: 52. Motion Blur: 7. Chromatic Aberration: Off. Film Grain: 0. Trick Prompts, Mini-Map, & Control Hints: Off. Change Button Taps to Holds: On. Option to Skip Puzzles: On. Everything else: Default. With these settings I achieved a clear image of the game while maintaining smooth gameplay and traversal. I think these are the best settings in the game. Hope it helps. Also, if you’re like me, you don’t like how the game can look kinda messy when the icons appear when you press R3. Here’s a tip: Use the Touch Pad instead to bring up the map and choose the icons you want to travel to individually. Also, I’m playing on a base PS4. I’ve set the resolution to 1080p, I’ve left the RGB Range on Automatic, and set the Deep Color Output to Automatic under Video Output Settings (Settings, Sound and Screen, Video Output Settings).
Side Note: When playing this game I realized that turning certain settings on or off can actually have an effect on swing speed, input lag, responsiveness, etc. In addition to the settings I have above, I also suggest turning the Disable Parallaxing feature to On. For some odd reason, with this setting turned on in combination with the settings I have above, it made web swinging feel more responsive during my playthrough. When turned on, this setting shouldn’t hinder gameplay in any intrusive way. Turning on the Disable Parallaxing feature should have zero effect if the HUD Elements (Trick Prompts, Mini Map, & Control Hints) are already switched off. Give it a try. Hope it helps.
